Be Naturally Reasonable (Part 1 of 3)

I prefer going au naturale even during bathtime

I prefer going au naturale even during bath time

I am definitely a sucker for bath products like soap, lotion or body butters, foot lotion, shampoos. Most especially if the products are all-natural and/or organic. The problem was, well before, that natural beauty products were super duper expensive. Even if I wanted to go green, damn it would really hurt my pocket.

Buti na lang now nowadays, natural and/or organic products are already made more accessible to the masang Pinoy (like me!). There are a lot of entrepreneurs (Pinoy entrepreneurs pa!) who choose to be green at the same time have dirt cheap prices. I mean dirt cheap if prices are comparable to manufactured products. So I get to support the environment with less use of chemical based products. At the same time, support Pinoy livelihood by buying Pinoy! Woohooo! And bonus pa ang nakakatipid ako. Well, more of nakakasulit talaga. Mura na, natural pa! O-ha!

I am sharing with you my current favorite brands…

Ilog Maria

My friend “J” from ABS CBN introduced me to Ilog Maria in 2007. I remember her giving me  her pot of Ilog Maria during on of our press conferences at ABS CBN. And after slathering my lips with the Ilog Maria lip balm, the rest was history. I order my stuff online since they can deliver it straight to your doorstep. I know that they are also available at the Echo Store at Serendra. Mark-ups and delivery charges saves you the Gas and Toll to Tagaytay anyway. Whenever I get the chance to go to Tagaytay, I do go wild and hoard Ilog Maria products.

My favorites (aside from the lip balm) are:

  • the Oatmeal & Spearmint soap which is great during hot, sticky humid days because it leaves that minty cool feeling. Only costs Ph 66 for the regular sized soap. The soap actually lasts 3-4weeks so it’s pretty sulit.
  • the Propolis Feminine wash also leaves that clean minty cool feeling down there. Only costs Php 49.50 and lasts for 3-4weeks! Really cool. Literally.
  • the Throat Spray is also a runaway winner. For only Php 82.50, you can soothe your throat in a jiffy with just a few sprays. Even works when you have a nasty cough!
  • I also love the Bee Pollen which I take to energize me. But it is so sad that it (plus their Virgin Honey) has not been available since May 2009 due to environmental reasons. This is just so sad. How we are now reaping the fruits of our damaging the Mother Earth with harmful chemicals and everything else.

So more reason to Go Green right? Watch out for my other favorite brands within the week.

P.S. Sorry na walang pictures ang products kc obviously naubos na sila. Hehehehe.
